The main function of the Employment Service is to render job assistance to unemployed job seekers of the District. Its serves as a linkage between Job providers and job seekers, other concerned stakeholders through a network of District Employment Exchanges. The Services also include Offline and Online Registration of job seekers, Online Updating/Modification of Registration, Acceptance of Registration for vacancies from Employers and sponsoring suitable candidates for Employment. The registration and information service is also extended to one newly established Employment Information Bureau Office located at the Mawshynrut C&RD Block offices in Riangdo.
EMI Unit
Another function of the department is the task of collection of statistics on Employment Market Information relating to various man power employed in various categorized sector
VG Section
Besides these, the Offices provide Vocational Guidance/Self Employment information to willing/desiring candidates in various vocational trade. For this purpose the department forward the willing candidates for various training to Coaching-cum-Guidance Centre for SC/ST cell, office of the Directorate of Employment &Craftsmen Training, Shillong.
