Block-Level Competitions
Organisers: District Administration, West Khasi Hills District, in collaboration with the Ong i main Socio Cultural Welfare Society, WKHD and CLFs.

Eligibility
- All competitions are open to citizens of West Khasi Hills District.
- Participants must have domicile or proof of residence of West Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya.
- Entries may be submitted by youth clubs, cultural clubs, self-help groups, villages, schools, colleges and individuals.
- Participants should have no past or ongoing criminal record.

Specific Rules: Folk Song & Folk Dance
- Each group must have a minimum of six and a maximum of ten singers/dancers; male, female or mixed groups are allowed.
- Use of prerecorded music is not allowed.
- Folk songs/dances may be performed in Khasi Standard, Garo or any local dialect.
- Film songs and film dances are not allowed; participants are encouraged to perform folk songs/dances from their own community.
- Maximum performance duration is five minutes, with a maximum of two minutes for setup.
Specific Rules: Mawpoin (Female)
- Each team may register ten players.
- A maximum of seven players from each team may play at a time.
- The remaining three players will be substitutes.
- Only one coach and one manager are permitted.
Specific Rules: Tied Pohdun (Male)
- Maximum of six participants in each team.
- Participants must bring their own round stick; the Pohdun will be provided by the organisers.
- Rules broadly similar to table tennis will apply, with an additional target at each middle end of the playing ground.
- Further instructions will be issued at the venue.
Specific Rules: Tug of War
- Twelve participants per team; separate male and female categories, games and prizes.
- Matches will be best of three pulls; the team winning two pulls wins.
- Teams must begin only on the official’s signal.
- A team wins when the rope marker crosses the designated line.
- Sitting, lying down, wrapping/tying the rope around the body and unsportsmanlike conduct are prohibited.
- Repeated fouls, misconduct or use of unregistered participants may result in disqualification.
- The decision of the referee/judges is final and binding.
Specific Rules: Quiz Competition
- Each team must have two participants.
- The language of the competition will be English only.
- Questions will mainly relate to West Khasi Hills District and partly to Meghalaya.
- The competition will include an elimination round and a final round.
- Only six teams will qualify for the final round.

District-Level Competition: Winners of the block-level competitions will participate in the district-level competition to be held on 26, 27 and 28 October 2026. Exact dates for particular items will be announced separately.
