The following suggestions are being considered
important to be attended to on priority basis (based on practical experiences):-
1. Proper coordination with all line departments in
the District Headquarter for speedy development of various aspects of
the Nongstoin Town, especially for
(i) New Nongstoin (ii) Upper New Nongstoin, and (iii) Ladweitang being congested localities.2. Construction of footpaths on both sides of the main
road from petrol pump (Upper New Nongstoin) up to Nondien Bridge (New
Nongstoin) (to be taken up by PWD).3. Identify new parking places (if feasible), as presently
no specific parking lots except by the PWD roadsides.4. Proper arrangement of parking place for the pony
carts to prevent dirty scent of the main station of the town. Each pony
cart should be issued with a registration number for identity.5. To have its own dumping site and vehicle for disposal
of waste products.6. All automobiles workshops/fabrication/mills and other
industries should obtain permission from the Committee to enable to
check the same from their lawlessness and pollution, etc.
7. One office assistant should be engaged to look after
the office works of the Town Committee – as of now the Asst. Enforcement
Inspector (Revenue branch), Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Nongstoin,
is looking on part-time basis, as the main works to be concentrated
are with (i) Relief Branch and (ii) Assisting the Disaster Rish Management
Programme.
